This Leh Ladakh motorcycle tour is built for riders who want high passes, blue lakes, ancient monasteries, rare culture, remote villages, and some of the highest motorable roads in the world.





Leh, capital of Ladakh, lies at 3,524 meters in a broad Himalayan valley. After arrival, a taxi driver from Hotel Oriental Guesthouse meets you at the airport and transfers you to the centrally located tour hotel. Relax, acclimatize, meet the guide, walk to Shanti Stupa, and enjoy a welcome dinner in the hotel garden.
After breakfast and a Royal Enfield briefing, we ride into the upper Indus Valley to visit Hemis and Thiksey, two of Ladakh's most famous monasteries. We get used to the motorcycles, mountain roads, curves, villages, and snow-capped views before returning to Leh.
Distance covered: approx. 90 kmWe ride west through the Indus Valley and follow the wild Zanskar River deep into its mighty gorge. The road passes narrow sandstone walls, remote valleys, and the oasis village of Chilling before reaching Alchi, a Tibetan village near Ladakh's oldest monastery.
Distance covered: approx. 190 kmA thrilling ride along the Indus River leads into the remote western region and the Aryan Valley. We meet the Brokpa/Aryan community, known for unique traditions, language, and culture, and spend the night in a resort-style camp among the locals.
Distance covered: approx. 180 kmWe ride through Chitkan, Namika La, Kanji Valley, and Fotu La before reaching Lamayuru Monastery, one of Ladakh's oldest and most important monasteries. The surreal landscape around Lamayuru is known as the Moonland of Ladakh.
Distance covered: approx. 210 kmWe cross Khardung La at 5,604 meters and descend toward the Nubra Valley. The ride offers dramatic views over Leh and the surrounding mountains. We explore Panamik hot springs and the broad Nubra Valley before overnighting around Sumur/Hunder.
Distance covered: approx. 210 kmWe ride through the western Nubra Valley along the Shyok River toward India's northernmost villages, with views toward the Karakoram range. In the afternoon, we visit Diskit Monastery and the giant Buddha statue, then enjoy the sand dunes of Hunder.
Distance covered: approx. 230 kmWe follow the Shyok River and climb the recently opened Wari La Pass at 5,312 meters. The route drops into Shakti Valley, with time for Taktok and Chemrey monasteries, before reaching Thiksey and a boutique hotel stay.
Distance covered: approx. 140 kmWe climb Chang La Pass at 5,360 meters and continue toward the blue-green Pangong Lake. We overnight in a simple bungalow resort in Merak overlooking the lake, with time for short hikes or village exploration.
Distance covered: approx. 180 kmWe ride from Pangong toward Hanle, crossing Thato La, Kaksang La, and Namshang La before reaching the Indus River and the remote village of Hanle, the starting point for Umling La.
Distance covered: approx. 190 kmOne of the most spectacular days of the tour. Umling La rises to 5,883 meters, with thin air, sharp wind, vast silence, and unmatched panoramas. We continue over Photi La at 5,525 meters and reach a remote village by evening.
Distance covered: approx. 260 kmWe ride through the remote land of Tibetan nomads, wild high plateaus, yak herds, kiang horses, Chagga La, and Salsal La. We reach Tso Moriri, a shimmering high mountain lake at 4,522 meters, and overnight in a small hotel with lake views.
Distance covered: approx. 180 kmWe pass Puga's sulfur springs, cross Namshang La, follow the surreal Tso Kar salt lake, and climb Tanglang La before descending through rocky gorges into the Indus Valley. The stage ends at a boutique hotel in the Shakti Valley.
Distance covered: approx. 250 kmA relaxed day with a short ride back to Leh. Arrive late morning with time for old town walks, souvenirs, and the atmosphere of Ladakh. In the evening, we meet for a farewell dinner with mountain views.
Distance covered: approx. 50 kmAfter breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for the flight to Delhi. We say Tashi Delek and look forward to seeing you again for another adventure.
Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal for sunrise, followed by breakfast, Red Fort, a return journey to New Delhi, Royal Enfield flagship store visit, farewell dinner, and airport transfer. The detailed extension can be requested separately.
